About the Host

Hi there, I’m Ret Taylor, host of The Good Nature Show! Born in a Wyoming mountain town with eleven people in it, I went on to live and work in some of the biggest cities in the world. In each of them, I instinctively sought out and spent time in their most natural spaces. In 2008 while climbing trees in Central Park, I started wondering what it was about spending time in nature that made me and others feel so much happier, healthier, more creative, and more alive. I’ve been researching and experimenting with that question ever since.

In one of my favorite experiments, I spent fifty consecutive days entirely outdoors. The plan was to see just how much I could thrive. As I’ve grown older and life has become more complicated, I’ve found tremendous healing and clarity in nature.

Despite all this, despite having moved to the mountains of Colorado, and despite starting a business, Ned™, the mission of which is to “help people feel better and live better through the powers of the natural world,” I still, at times, find myself as disconnected from nature as anyone.

The Good Nature Show is one my ways of strengthening that connection and making it available to everyone. “Where focus goes, energy flows,” right? I’m learning right alongside the listeners from some of the best and brightest on the subject. It’s my passion, it’s my favorite thing to talk about, and I know first-hand how important it is for all of us.
